Eva is an experienced General Counsel and business leader with extensive experience advising both public and private companies. Eva enjoys working with clients on complex business issues and has a reputation for getting things done.
Eva has spent over 20 years in general counsel-level roles, including 10 years as General Counsel of KinderCare Learning Centers where she was responsible for the legal, government relations, corporate communications, internal audit, and corporate philanthropy teams. Eva led KinderCare through many financing and M&A transactions, including the successful sale of KinderCare by KKR in 2005. Since then, Eva has served as an acting or interim General Counsel or general counsel-level resource for several companies, including NW Natural Gas Company and FEI Company, and also served as COO for a company providing legal and technology services. Eva began her career with Stoel Rives LLP, a leading Northwest law firm, where she became a partner with a practice focused on corporate law and M&A.
Eva counsels both public and private companies on a diverse range of matters, including M&A and other strategic transactions, corporate governance, and compliance, and has successfully led clients through multiple complex business transactions. Eva is admitted to practice in Oregon.
Eva currently serves on the board of The Willamette Valley Company LLC, a niche manufacturing and industrials company headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, and serves as a trustee for Willamette University, where she chairs the Audit Committee. Eva also recently completed nine years of service on the Board of The Library Foundation, where she served as board chair from 2018 to 2022, and has previously served on the boards of several other nonprofits and the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System.
Eva is co-author of “The Generalist Counsel: How Leading General Counsel are Shaping Tomorrow’s Companies,” published by Oxford University Press in 2013, which offers guidance to lawyers making the transition to company leadership, based on research and in-depth interviews with sitting and former General Counsel.
