Lisa is an employment law attorney with over 20 years experience advising a wide variety of employers, from private sector companies of all sizes to government agencies and nonprofits. Prior to becoming an independent consultant close to 10 years ago, Lisa worked as a Senior Associate Attorney for Metro, an Employee Relations Manager for Nike, and an Associate Attorney in Employment with Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP. Her varied experiences have enriched her ability to understand the unique workplace dynamics facing each organization and situation. Lisa routinely drafts and revises workplace policies, facilitates employee trainings, and conducts workplace investigations.
Lisa graduated cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, and liked St. Louis so much she stayed five more years! She served as a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs, received her JD from Washington University in St. Louis, and worked as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Duane Benton, Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, while he served on the Missouri Supreme Court. During law school she also met her future husband and convinced him to move to Oregon.
Lisa can often be found hiking anywhere with plenty of trees, from Japan and Chile to Tryon Creek and Forest Park, playing competitive tennis, and reading memoirs. She loves baking with her two daughters, and for several years ran her own business teaching hands-on cooking classes to kids. Lisa also celebrates storytelling in all forms, and has told a few of her own through The Moth. She serves as a volunteer docent for OJMCHE (Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education) and several nature-oriented nonprofits.
