Nancy Segal brings two decades of diverse legal, business, and organizational experience to her work with OGC. As a corporate attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Nancy led deal teams through a variety of complex business transactions, including venture and private equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and various joint ventures. While at Skadden, she often helped early-stage clients solve problems, mitigate risk, and navigate myriad commercial transactions, effectively operating as de facto general counsel for several pre-IPO companies. Since leaving the world of big firm law, Nancy has become a seasoned advisor to companies seeking help with commercial agreements, and clients needing legal advice from a business-minded lawyer who understands their issues and speaks their language.
Nancy’s legal perspective is informed by her unique experience outside the legal realm, from her time working forThe Walt Disney Company to roles in state politics and the not-for-profit sector, and, most recently, with a burgeoning management consulting practice focused on assisting businesses with international expansion. A pragmatist, Nancy has a passion for efficiency and believes that top-shelf legal advice can add real value to a client’s bottom line.
A native Oregonian, Nancy is also an avid explorer, having travelled to nearly 50 countries, and she recently returned from living in Singapore for several years. When she’s not volunteering at her kids’ schools or with various not-for-profits, you might find her kayaking the Deschutes, exploring Forest Park, or squeezing in a tennis match. Nancy holds a JD from UCLA School of Law and a BS from Northwestern University.
